Our Beliefs and Values

Our beliefs and values are the principles in which we believe and which drive our actions. They are the guiding principles that we adhere to in pursuing our vision and guide our activities as outlined in our mission statement. Any local church or organization, wishing to sponsor or participate in the Bus Stop Bible Studies programs must sign a document affirming that they are in agreement with the values outlined below.

  1. God is a God of grace and love who is holy and perfectly just and desires that no one should perish.
  2. Sin, in simple terms, is disagreement with God [opposition to or failure to obey Him] and is the basis for our separation from God.
  3. Salvation is a gift of God received by faith, through grace alone as demonstrated by the sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of God's son, Jesus Christ.
  4. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to be the sowers of God's seed (his Word) leaving God's Spirit to work in the heart man, convincing the individual of his or her need to be drawn back into a personal and right relationship with God.
  5. We believe it is the duty of every follower of Jesus Christ to hate sin and love the sinner. We will not condemn any individual on the basis of his or her beliefs or lifestyle, nor will we commend any rule (law) or lifestyle that is contradictory to Scripture.
  6. We will publish nothing that is knowingly contradictory to the Word of God.
  7. We will publish nothing that is intentionally designed to create conflict, strife or hostility. Our sole purpose is to guide people into a personal relationship with God, through his Son, Jesus Christ and encourage them to grow in that relationship.
  8. The content of all publicly displayed Bible Studies will be evaluated and held in conformity to the Lord's mandate as identified in the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 61, verses 1-3.
