As of 2007 Canadian transit companies have 11,805 buses and 1,431 subway, 531commuter rail cars and 521 light rail vehicles.

Below is a list of most of the Canadian public transit companies.  Choose your province and then town or city to find detailed information concerning your local transit company.  If your community has public transit but is not listed, or if you find any discrepancies in the list, please contact us so that the list may be kept current.

CALGARY (907 vehicles) Population 988,193.  Calgary Transit comprises 758 buses and 149 C-train vehicles.  Calgary transit has two bus zones plus the C-train.  Average daily ridership is 500,000. Average number of exposures per study panel, per 12-week period is 11,000.  The first 190 studies were posted on February 11, 2008. 50 YES
EDMONTON (884 vehicles) Population 730,372.  Edmonton Transit comprises 847 buses and 37 Light Rail Transit (LRT) vehicles.  Edmonton has five bus transit zones plus the LRT.  Average daily ridership is 204,545. Average number of exposures per study panel, per 12-week period is 5,090. 50 YES

BRITISH COLUMBIA All transit companies in BC fall under the umbrella organizations of BC Transit, Translink and Coast Mountain Bus Company .  At present religious advertising is not allowed on any of the BC transit systems.  BC Transit currently has an appeal before the Supreme Court of Canada which is likely to impact our future ability to advertise on any of the public transit systems in BC.   The TTC serves over 440 million customers annually in the Greater Toronto Area. With 1.4 million passengers on a typical weekday, the TTC has one of the highest per capita ridership rates in North America. The TTC serves the city with an extensive network of subways, streetcar lines, bus routes, and a specialized service, Wheel-Trans, for people with disabilities.
