Church Sponsorship

A church may sponsor a series of Bible study panels in a specific transit zone to direct viewers to their place of worship. Your church name, address, phone number, time of services, and website address will appear on your study panels. Several advertising packages have been provided to accommodate the advertising needs of your church.

• What is the minimum quantity of studies a church or individual can sponsor?

  One; however there are minimum order requirements for each transit company (typically 20+ depending on location). A number of churches can combine efforts to meet the minimum order requirements. Contact Bus Stop Bible Studies for more details.

• How much does it cost to sponsor each Bus Stop Bible Study?

  Standard width panels are $45 on a bus or $70 on the subway. Double width panels are $80 and $110 respectively.

• What is the size of a standard display (study) panel?

  35-inches wide by 11-inches high. Double-width panels (super interiors) are 70-inches wide by 11-inches high?

• How long do the studies stay up (displayed) on the buses?

  12-weeks is the guaranteed minimum duration. Depending on availability of unsold space some transit advertising agencies will allow the studies to remain on display for up to 24-weeks at no additional cost.

• What is the recommended number of studies for a church to sponsor?

  It is suggested that churches sponsor one study for every two regular church attendees per year. For example, a congregation of one hundred would sponsor 17 studies ($765) every four months (approximately $190 per month).

• What is a 'Domination Campaign'?

  A 'Domination Campaign' is where a church, organization or business sponsors all the displays inside a bus or subway car. Please refer to our PhotoThoughts studies for more details.

• When do the studies get posted?

  Typically three campaigns are run each year; late Fall/Winter (includes the Christmas season), Spring/Early Summer and Summer/Early Fall. Actual start dates may vary slightly by region or transit company.

• Can we ask for a specific start date if we are using the identification labels to promote a special event?

  Yes, however a premium may be charged and sufficient notice must be given. Contact Bus Stop Bible Studies for more details.

• Can an individual church attendee sponsor studies on behalf of his or her church?

  Yes, providing the church leadership is in agreement and signs the Application to Sponsor Form. The sponsor must identify the church with their sponsorship application.

• Is there an additional cost for custom identification labels?

  No, there is no additional cost.

• What is the standard identification label size?

  The standard identification label is 11-inches wide by 4.25-inches high.

• Can we include our church logo on the identification label?

  Yes, however, you will need to e-mail us a high-resolution JPEG file (.jpg). The labels are printed in full-colour.

• What information is included on the identification label?

  Generally the church name, street address, telephone number and website information are included on the label. Within reasonable limits, other information such as worship times, Alpha programs, kids' summer vacation programs, etc. can be included.

• Can we get our church listed on the Bus Stop Bible Studies website?

  Yes, all sponsoring churches receive a free listing. View our Finding a Church page to see the current listings. If you have not been listed, please contact us.

• Is there a practical way to get the church congregation involved?

  Yes. Promotional material can be provided to churches. Other ideas include:

  • Get individual church members to commit to sponsoring one or more studies.
  • By making a personal commitment, individuals are more likely to engage transit riders in conversation when the opportunity arises.
  • Sunday School and Youth Groups can sponsor child/teen-oriented studies.
• Can we create our own studies?

  Yes, you may request your own verse or passage of Scripture. All studies must be approved by Bus Stop Bible Studies and the transit company or their advertising agency prior to posting.

• Can we choose what bus routes the studies will be displayed on?

  Larger transit companies (Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa, etc.) have two or more different transit zones. You may select in which zone, not route, the studies will be displayed. In smaller communities there is no choice of zone or route.

• Are there transit companies that don't allow Bus Stop Bible Studies to be posted?

  Currently BC Transit does not allow any form of political or religious advertising. This matter is currently before the Supreme Court of Canada. Several transit companies have already approved Bus Stop Bible Studies material. If you do not see your town or city listed please contact us.

To sponsor a study, you must first decide which advertising package your church would like to purchase. You must then choose the appropriate number of studies from our Sample Pre-Approved Studies listed below. The following pop-up window will appear when you select a category:

The following instructions will help your church to successfully sponsor a study:

1. Use the Next and Previous buttons to navigate through our list of studies. If you wish to change categories, close the pop-up window and choose a different category.
2. A study number, title and Bible reference is listed for each study you view. If you want to include a specific study in your package, make note of the study number, as you'll need it to complete your sponsorship.

   Note: The options listed under the studies are for individual sponsorship of studies only. When Bus Stop Bible Studies contacts you, we will discuss the options that are available.
