Volunteer Your Time
Bus Stop Bible Studies is constantly on the look-out for people who have a passion to proclaim the Word of God. Join us in extending God's kingdom through one or more of these opportunities:
- Ride the bus and pray for the driver as well as riders. When you see a Bible Study on the bus, draw attention to it in order to strike up a conversation with the person sitting near you.
- Submit a Scripture verse with a thought-provoking comment or question for consideration in developing future Bus Stop Bible Studies.
- Join Bus Stop Bible Studies' e-mail prayer chain. Urgent requests will be forwarded for prayer. These may include the strategic launch in a new city, or requests from transit riders.
- Sponsor a study "honouring bus drivers" in your city.
- Become an individual donor for the first-time or through monthly gifts; invite your friends to match your gift to Bus Stop Bible Studies.
- Promote Bus Stop Bible Studies to decision-makers and congregants in your own church - sponsor studies through your outreach or mission teams, Alpha ministry, youth group, children's ministry or summer programs.
- Mobilize churches in your city; gather a critical mass of sponsors to launch Bus Stop Bible Studies in a new transit region or sustain existing regions.
- Research church/ministry/business information in your city to help Bus Stop Bible Studies build a database for promotion to potential sponsors.
- Phone from home in cities across Canada to help Bus Stop Bible Studies determine names of key church decision-makers and confirm current contact details.
- Organize a local prayer group. Pray for doors to open to launch Bus Stop Bible Studies in your city; pray for bus drivers and riders in your community.
- Train to answer a prayer line. Bus Stop Bible Studies partners with Crossroads Ministries to invite volunteers within specific communities to respond to phone calls from people in distress. Some calls will be from transit riders who see Bus Stop Bible Studies. Volunteer requirements and training information can be found on the Crossroads website.
- Help clean panels between postings. If you live in the GTA, a team of volunteers meets a few times a year to clean panels between postings.
- Submit digital photos for consideration in PhotoThought displays. Download detailed information.
