Atheist Visitors Welcome Page
Hello and welcome! We have been receiving so many visitor referrals from Atheist websites and blogs resulting from the Atheist Bus Campaign, we though we should at least say, "Hello". We have a saying, "God works in mysterious ways". While we have been labouring away in relative obscurity for the past two years, diligently doing what we do, all of a sudden we're receiving all kinds of media exposure and the traffic on our website has shot up five-fold. So, thanks! While you are here we hope you will give our website more than just a cursory glance. By way of background I used to be an atheist myself although, I must admit, not a 'fundamental' atheist. You can read more about my personal experiences on my blog. There has been a lot of shrill reaction on both sides resulting from the Atheist Bus Campaign. Our viewpoint is that it presents a great opportunity for dialogue. We do not find the "THERE'S PROBABLY NO GOD…" message offensive - it's merely an opposing viewpoint and even atheists have the right to be wrong ;>) and we fully support freedom of speech providing it does not deliberately demean others. If I may be so bold as to proselytize for one moment, responding to the most common argument I hear that God cannot be scientifically proven, by saying that things of the spirit realm cannot be scientifically proven by anyone. God can only be experienced and known. No one can prove God exists; even those that know Him (please note I did not say 'know of Him') can only point to Him. The rest is a personal journey of knowledge and discovery. Religion as it is normally defined can create all kinds of rancour as is correctly noted on many atheist blogs. James, the brother of Jesus described religion in this way, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." How many people do you know of that practice that kind of religion? I would like to leave you with this Bible verse, with a 100% money-back guarantee, "In those days when you pray I will listen. If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me. I will be found by you," says the LORD. Jeremiah 29:12-14. Are you up to the challenge? God is. Happy hunting! [hunting - the process of searching carefully for something, usually over a period of time] David Consider the PeacockWe include the following, not so much as an argument for Creation, rather to encourage you to question why you believe what you believe. Is what you believe reasonable and why? If the answer to that question is "No", then the next logical question is what is one going to do about it? As we consider how peacocks came to be we are confronted with three possibilities; a strictly evolutionary process (random chance + time + mutation), an evolving process directed by a Creator and instant Creation at God's command. Here we present some scientifically verifiable facts and leave you to draw your own conclusion. Although there is no unanimity, much of the scientific community describes life as a condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects, i.e. non-life (minerals, gas, etc.) and dead organisms, being made evident by growth through metabolism (digestion), reproduction and communication (e.g. DNA). Therefore these three criteria must simultaneously be met in the very first life form whether a simple bacteria or higher organism. Life in higher life forms is exceedingly complex with the rules for their reproduction contained in microscopic strands of DNA. There are approximately 25,000 genes and 3,000,000,000 chemical base pairs in a single strand of human DNA. Cells split and combine to create higher life forms.
Bypassing all the complexity of life in the body of a peacock, consider the peacock's plumage which is readily observable. The peacock feathers' bright colors are produced not by pigments, but rather by tiny, intricate two-dimensional crystal-like structures each with a width hundreds of times thinner than a human hair. Slight and precise alterations in the spacing of these microscopic structures cause different wavelengths of light to be refracted and reflected, creating the feathers' many different iridescent hues. What evolutionary developments must happen to reach this result?
The Bible says, 'For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature.” Romans 1:20 (NLT). I tend to agree. Do you? p.s.
